Denita has been the Associate Director of the Delaware SBDC since 2016. Denita brings over 20 years of experience as a business and economic development executive to the SBDC. She previously worked as a business development consultant lending her expertise in strategic planning and management to corporations, government agencies, small businesses and nonprofits. Most recently, Denita served the Office of the Mayor of the City of Wilmington as the Director of Small Business Development. She received her B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and her MBA from Villanova University. She is also a credentialed Economic Development Finance Professional (Lending & Regulatory Specialist) from the National Development Council.

Operating since 1984, the SBDC is dedicated to helping new and scaling businesses grow and prosper within Delaware and the region by providing no or low-cost advisory and training services.
The SBDC is the only statewide, nationally accredited program that provides high quality one-on-one consulting, training and information resources to help small businesses grow and succeed. The SBDC program is a public/private partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Delaware and the University of Delaware.
